How to Select the Right Locker for Your Needs

Evidence continuity is of supreme importance to law enforcement agencies which know they need more reliable temporary evidence lockers in order to establish the "chain of custody" for a piece of evidence to be admissible in court. But identifying the correct requirements for your temporary evidence storage means much more than picking out a color or handle type. It's important to consider every aspect of how your department handles evidence -- when evidence must be temporarily stored until the property officer can process it.

Here is a list of questions to jump start the process:

  1. What type of evidence will you need to store? Our evidence storage can storge rifles not just handguns.

  2. Is there paper evidence that will need temporary storage? Drugs?

  3. Does evidence need to be drop off for storage? Drop slots can provide safe storage for your evidence.

  4. What if sensitive evidence requires a temperature controlled environment. For example, blood samples and  rape kits can be ruined with long exposure to warm temperatures.

  5. What space is available for evidence lockers?

  6. Are there special architectural details to work around?

  7. Do you require pass-through or non pass-through lockers?

Units are available in either Pass-Thru or Non Pass-Thru systems with a choice of keyed or keyless locking.

Refrigeration units are also available to store blood samples, sexual assault kits, etc.  These models are also available in Pass-Thru or Non Pass-Thru for your individual application(s).  Several lockable interior compartment options are available.
